About Dr. Jeffrey Fudin

Dr. Fudin graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy (ACP) with his Bachelors Degree in 1981 and completed his Pharm.D. in 1998. He was awarded and completed an American Cancer Society Sponsored Fellowship in Oncology / Hematology at SUNY/Upstate Medical Center shortly after his undergraduate work. 

He is a Diplomate to the American Academy of Pain Management, and a member of several other professional organizations, some of which include the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health-system Pharmacists, American Pain Society, and Phi Delta Chi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.  He was a peer reviewer for recently established American Pain Society Clinical Practice Guidelines for Arthritis, for Fibromyalgia, and for Cancer Pain and Palliative Care.  He is a panel member for establishing guidelines for the "Use of Chronic Opioids for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain", a collaborative effort between the American Pain Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.  He is a reviewer for publications and poster submissions for both ACCP and ASHP.  He is a two-time past Chair and founder of the ACCP Pain Pharmacy Practice Network group.  Dr. Fudin is a Medical Advisory Board Consultant member for the Danmiller Memorial Education Foundation (an on-line public service for pain practitioners and patients). 

Dr. Fudin practices as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Stratton Veterans Administration Medical Center in Albany NY.  He has been employed there since 1982.  He is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Albany College of Pharmacy, and has been an Instructor of Pharmacology and Psychopharmacology at SAGE Graduate School of Nursing for several years.  He is CEO and founder of NovaPain Consultants, a private Internet-based pain resource.  He is a Clinical Pharmacy Consultant to Homedical Associates, an innovative home-based academic patient care service dedicated to medically complex patients in their homes.  

Dr. Fudin has been an invited speaker on pain management nationally and internationally at VA Hospitals and within the private sector and at major academic medical centers throughout the United States.  In the last year alone, Dr. Fudin has lectured on various pain-related topics to thousands of physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers and administrators in over 30 states nationwide.  He has presented symposia at national meetings for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Pharmaceutical Association, and several other national meetings for physician, nurse, and osteopathic medicine groups.  He is an active lecturer, writer, and researcher on pain management issues. 

In addition to his expertise in Pain Management, Dr. Fudin has been nationally recognized as a federal whistleblower.  Activities surrounding his involvement as a whistleblower have received national press, local radio and printed news media, professional journals to include The New York Times, and MS-NBC.
